About Me.

April's goal is to inspire a lifelong love of music while building confidence and creativity in her students. She nurtures musical growth through engaging and supportive lessons, helping students develop their skills while fostering a deep and lasting appreciation for music.
      April is an experienced educator, currently working with Coventry Music Service as a woodwind, piano, and music theory teacher. Since 2020, she has also provided private lessons to students of all ages and abilities, fostering their growth and guiding them toward achieving their musical ambitions. She has successfully prepared students for ABRSM and Trinity College London examinations, achieving distinctions and merits up to Grade 8 in flute, piano, and music theory.
       This proves her commitment to excellence and her ability to inspire students to reach their full potential.
       April’s teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every student has the potential to succeed when given the right tools and encouragement. She creates a supportive and engaging learning environment, tailoring lessons to meet the individual needs of her students. Whether helping a beginner learn their first notes or preparing an advanced player for auditions or examinations.

April is currently completing her Bachelor's degree at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where she is set to graduate in June 2025. April is highly skilled classical flutist, performer, and dedicated music educator. With a specialised in classical music performance and pedagogy, April has established herself as a passionate and versatile musician, equally at home on stage and in the teaching. Throughout her studies, April has been mentored by some of the most renowned musicians in the field, including Jonathan Rimmer, Alena Walentin, and Marie Zupancic for flute, and Andrew Lane and Helen Benson for piccolo.
           These distinguished educators have played a pivotal role in refining her technique, artistry, and interpretative depth, enabling her to excel in both solo and ensemble settings.

As a performer, April has participated in numerous recitals and collaborative projects like Symphony orchestra, solo recital at St Catherine of Siena, and ensemble with flute duo and piano recently performed Debussy petite suite, performing her artistry across a variety of classical repertoire. Her performance highlights include wedding gigs where she performed alongside a harpist. These professional experiences have not only developed her performance skills but also deepened her understanding of how music connects people on an emotional level.
Currently based in Birmingham, Coventry, Yejin is passionate about contributing to her community's cultural life through performance and education.She welcomes opportunities for lessons, collaborations, and events, and is dedicated to sharing the beauty and transformative power of classical music.
